Privacy policy
What Career Lab collects, why, who helps us run it and how to get your data deleted. Last updated 28 September 2026.
Who we are
Career Lab is run by LogicLeap Ltd, a company registered in England and Wales. LogicLeap Ltd is the controller of the personal data described here. Contact us at support@logicleapit.co.uk about anything on this page.
What we collect
- Your account: your first name, email address and password (stored only as a secure hash), plus the profile answers you give during sign-up, such as your age band, what you are studying and the kinds of work you are interested in.
- What you do in Career Lab: the situations and activities you try, your choices and written answers, reflections, saved jobs, applications you track and interview setups. These are saved to your account so they follow you between devices.
- Documents you add: job adverts, CVs and LinkedIn PDF exports you upload for interview practice or job matching. We read the text to build what you asked for and keep it with that interview setup.
- Practice conversations: the messages you type and, in voice practice, your speech. Speech is streamed to the AI provider to produce the conversation and no audio recording is kept; a text transcript of the conversation can be saved with your practice record. Replies are checked by our safety filter before they are shown.
- Purchases: what you bought and when. Card payments on the website are handled by Stripe and in-app purchases by Apple; we never receive your full card details.
- Usage events: a small set of product events (for example, a situation started or finished) so we can see what works. These carry no messages, documents or email addresses and are deleted after 30 days.
Why we use it
To run your account and the practice you ask for (contract), to keep the service safe and working (legitimate interests), to take payment and keep records the law requires (contract and legal obligation), and to improve Career Lab using the usage events above (legitimate interests). We do not sell your data, we do not show adverts and we do not track you across other apps or websites.
Who helps us run it
- Cloudflare hosts the website and app.
- IONOS hosts the database where your account and progress are stored, on a server in London.
- Google (Gemini) generates practice conversations, voice replies and interview plans from what you type or say and the job details you add.
- Anam provides the video interviewer when video practice is available, with its data retention switched off.
- Stripe and Apple take payments.
- Adzuna supplies live vacancies when you search for jobs; only your search terms are sent.
Some of these providers process data outside the UK. Where they do, they are bound by contracts with UK-approved safeguards.
Young people
Career Lab is for people aged 14 and over. If you are under 18, an adult or your school owns any paid billing for you, and we never ask for more than we need to run your practice.
How long we keep it
Your account data is kept while your account is open. Usage events are deleted after 30 days. Payment records are kept for as long as UK tax law requires.
Your rights and deleting your account
You can delete your account at any time from the profile menu: choose Delete account. That permanently removes your account, progress, saved jobs, interviews and applications, and cancels a membership bought on the website. A membership bought in the iOS app is billed by Apple, so cancel it in your Apple Account subscriptions as well.
You also have the right to ask for a copy of your data, to correct it, to object to how we use it and to complain to the Information Commissioner's Office (ico.org.uk). Email support@logicleapit.co.uk and we will reply within one month.
Cookies and storage
Career Lab uses a small number of first-party cookies and browser storage to keep you signed in, remember your progress on this device and count situations for visitors who have not signed up. There are no advertising cookies.
On the website, Microsoft Clarity records clicks and scrolling without cookies, and never the text you type or read in the app. Google Analytics measures visits only if you accept cookies when asked, and Clarity only sets its own cookies then too. If you decline, no analytics cookies are set and nothing changes in how Career Lab works. The iOS app uses neither.
